A FRENCH BRONZE GROUPING 'RETURN FROM THE HUNT' BY EDOUARD DELABRIERRE, 19TH C.
Edouard Delabrierre, a highly detailed bronze grouping depicting a hunter with two hounds. Mounted on an oval base. Titled on the side "Return from the hunt". Signed "E. Delabrierre". The bottom is lined with green cloth.
Paul Edouard Delabrierre (1829-1912) was a French sculptor and a member of the school of Animalier painters. He is best known for his bronze sculptures of animals and hunting scenes.
H: 19 in., ( 48.3 cm.)
Condition: The grouping is in very good condition overall, some of the original gilding is still present. The bronze was converted into a pamp at some point, there are four holes shown on the rear.
