HUGO VICTOR: (1802-1885) French novelist, poet and dramatist. A brief A.L.S., Victor H, one page, 8vo, n.p., 12th April (1836), to Lacroix, in French. Hugo writes, in part, 'J'ai cherche et j'ai fini par retrouver' (Translation: 'I searched and eventually found it') and concludes 'je vous serre cordialement la main' (Translation: 'I cordially shake your hand'). With integral address leaf in Hugo's hand (small tears and areas of paper loss). About VG
