Duke of Wellington D6848 - Large - Royal Doulton Character Jug
Style One. Blue and gold coloration.
Arthur Wellesley (1769 - 1852), the first Duke of Wellington, was a British general and statesman. He led the British forces in the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815 and also served as Prime Minister from 1828 - 1830. This jug was commissioned by UK International Ceramics Ltd., in a special edition of 5,000. Series: The Great Generals Collection. Royal Doulton backstamp.
