American Sterling Silver Military Presentation Tray, Gorham Company 1945 The inscription reads: "To GENERAL OF THE ARMY AND MRS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER with THE RESPECT AND AFFECTION of CITIZENS of the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AT A LUNCHEON HONORING GENERAL EISENHOWER ON HIS RETURN FROM EUROPE JUNE 18 1956 WASHINGTON, D.C. Obtained from a sale of the estate of Anne Eisenhower. Includes a certificate from the sale stating the following: "Property from the estate of Anne Eisenhower. The Provenance of this object was verified by Lark Mason Associates in consultation with the Eisenhower family, as being from the collection of President and Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower." Weight: 95.4ozt Size: 25 3/4" long x 16 1/2" wide Condition: Tray has tarnishing and surface scratches consistent with age and use.
