Signed silver box. Most likely intended for calling cards.
On the lid of the box, an engraving of the emblem of the intelligence corps.
On the side of the box, an English dedication: Presented to Sgan Aloofe & Mrs. A. Perlin by the British Military Attach & Mrs. K F Roper - January 1955.
Aminadav Perlin [Peri] (1918-1990), a soldier in the Brigade and the Hagganah, and active in the operations of the illegal immigration. After the establishment of the State, served as a colonel lieutenant in the IDF. Until 1953, he was the spokesman of the IDF and then served as the commander of unit 848 - the would-be unit 8200 of the intelligence corps.
The gift indicates the good mutual relationship between him and the British Military Attach during his service as an intelligence officer.
