Rabbi David Friedman of Karlin writes in his name, and on behalf of other rabbis, that it is prohibited to place charity boxes of "Kupat Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess" that compete with other boxes on behalf of the communities in Eretz Yisrael. The poster was written to the administrators of Kupat Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess in Eretz Yisrael.A large polemic waged at the time regarding the tzedakah boxes of the Mir Yeshiva. The sharp polemic involved people in a number of countries and many Torah giants.
Rabbi David Friedman, "Rabbi David Karliner, " authored Shu"t She'ilat David and was a prominent posek and leader of his time.
