Sefer Kabbalah. Hadrat Kodesh "Adam Sichli". Tiengen 1560. The First Hebrew Book Printed in Tiengen [Waldshut, Germany].
Only 7 Hebrew books were printed in the small town of Tiengen, and this is the first of them.

Authored by HaRav Shimon ben Shmuel meTzarfat, who lived in Ashkenaz in the early 15th C.
The title "Adam Sichli" appears on the title page. Within the book, however, and on each of its pages is the main title "Hadrat Kodesh".

Hadrat Kodesh is based on Thirteen Principles of Faith and contains Kabbalistic prayers. It is brought in Sifrei Mussar and contains Kabbalistic explanations of the Thirteen Principles of Faith, the 13 Middot, the Ten Commandments and the places in the Talmud that discuss the Resurrection of the Dead.

The small town of Tiengen [Waldshut], Württemberg, on the Swiss border, housed a Jewish community beginning in 1454. In 1675 the Jews were expelled temporarily. In 1718 two Jewish families reestablished the Jewish presence there, which lasted until the Holocaust.

Interesting and special title page, showing an architectural frame with two flags at top, containing either printers' or family emblems.

Tiengen 1560.
[24] leaves. 18.8 cm.
Beautiful and complete condition and is bound in an attractive modern leather binding.
Otzar Hasefer Database No. 45821.
