First Print. Printed During the Author’s Lifetime. Sefer Yesod!.
Commentary on the Passover Haggadah, authored by the MaHaral MiPrague, Rabbi Yehuda Loew.

The MaHaral of Prague’s commentary has been reprinted countless times in numerous Haggadot. This is the original and first edition, printed by the MaHaral himself in 1582 albeit anonymously! This is one of the first of the MaHaral’s books to be printed.

The title page features particularly beautifully penned ownership listings, handwritten by the Tzaddik of Amsterdam, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Lehren (1784-1853). Rabbi Lehren was a Jewish Dutch banker and philanthropist. He was the founder of Pekidei VeAmarkalei Arei HaKodesh. This organization managed funds that were donated across the Dutch and German Jewish communities in aid of the Jews of Jerusalem.

A number of short handwritten notations appear throughout the book.
