A GEORGE III SILVER TEA CADDY
by Andrew Fogelberg & Stephen Gilbert, London 1782, oval, the hinged domed cover with a hinged beaded ring handle and engraved crest, the plain sides applied with a cast medallion to the front and back, between beaded rims, engraved Sophia on the base. 13.5cm long. 14.2 troy ounces
The base has a full set of clear marks, and the cover has a maker's mark and lion passant. It has a lock but no key. The hinge is in good order, and the cover closes well. It is in generally good condition with age-related surface wear.
