Polemic. Shivah Mashkin - Frankfurt am Main, 1774. Single edition.
Sefer Shivah Mashkin - seven Mamarim and sermons, including a geometric elucidation on Mishnayos of Masechet Kilayim. By Rabbi Shmuel Chaim [Neugas].
Between leaf 21 and leaf 22, 2 leaves with copper-engraved geometric sketches.
The [2] last leaves are about the Jews' attitude to non-Jews.
The controversy surrounding the book:
The leaders of the Furth community banned the book because of what was written in it about Jews' attitude to non-Jews and removed the Dayanim who approbated it for a year. They also forced the author, Rabbi Yosef Steinhart, to publish a statement not to buy the book.
The book includes a letter in Latin and Arabic by Prof. David Fredick of Berlin in support of the book.
