AFTER BUONARROTI PIETA WOOD STATUE MARY AND JESUS
A wooden statue, The Lamentation of Christ, or Vatican Pieta, after outstanding Renaissance artist, sculptor Michelangelo Buonarroti (Italian, 1475–1564) original marble composition, one of the earliest and most famous works. The statue is depicting the Virgin Mary and the body of Jesus Christ lying on Her lap. Unmarked. Circa: late 18th-century.
