IRIDISCENT MARIGOLD CARNIVAL GLASS TABLEWARE SET
A big lot of vintage Carnival glass decor items of marigold color. A total of 16 items including 8 saucers, 6 sherbet glasses, a serving plate, and a candle holder. Pieces of various manufacturers. The saucers and the glasses are Aunt Polly design type. Carnival glass is pressed glass which has an iridized surface treatment. This type of glassware was extremely popular in the early 20th century. The name was adopted by collectors in the 1950s as these items were sometimes given as prizes at carnivals and fairgrounds.
