ANTIQUE 19 C RUSSIAN 84 SILVER WOOD ICON SERAPHIM
An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Seraphim of Sarov, 19th century. Hand painted in oil on wood, with traditional 84 silver gilt riza or oklad covering the painting, cut out to show head and hands and decorated with engraved elements. The back of the icon is covered in brown velvet. Stamped with an 84 silver standard, and the makers mark MH. Russian Religious And Spiritual Objects, Orthodox Church Antiques And Collectibles. Total weight: 19 g.
Dimensions: Size: 2 7/8 x 2 1/4 in. All measurements are approximate.
