Oil on board painting by Gertrude Abercrombie. The artwork represents a Surrealist composition with a female figure, a door, the moon, and cats. Signed by the artist and dated 1944 in the lower right. Titled Lady With Cats on the backside on the Associated American Artists label. Wooden frame. Gertrude Abercrombie, 1909 to 1977, was an American painter based in Chicago famous for her bohemian lifestyle. Postwar Figurative Art For Collectors.
