ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI ERA GLASS SILVER AND ENAMEL BOWLS
A pair of antique Japanese silver and enamel mounted circular glass bowls. The silver exterior is pierced and embossed with a highly decorative continuous scene of wisteria, butterflies, irises, peonies, and chrysanthemums, picked out in shaded polychrome enamels. The interior with an enamel peony spray. Each bowl is raised on a silver circular foot, signed with incised hieroglyphic signature and silver hallmark to base. Meiji period, 1868 to 1912.
