ANTIQUE CHINESE CARVED JADE GUANYIN FIGURINE
Chinese jade carved Guanyin statue on a white stone base mounted to a wood stand. Numbered. Guanyin is the Chinese translation of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion. Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who chose to stay on earth as accessible examples for the Buddhist faithful to follow. Circa the early 20th century.
