RUSSIAN 84 SILVER DIAMONDS RUBY STONES ENAMEL BOX
A Russian 84 gilt silver and enamel trinket box. Of an oval form, the lid is covered with white guilloche enamel, the sides are decorated with gilt silver flower garlands overlays set with round cabochon cut rubies, the center is adorned with a round medallion set with cut diamonds and ruby cabochons encircling the monogram of the Russian Emperor Alexander III, 1845 to 1894. The sides are decorated with gilt silver overlays with Neoclassical motifs and a Russian Imperial warrant set with a ruby stone. Gilt wash interior. Hallmarked with an 84 Russian Imperial silver standard, kokoshnik mark, and other Russian hallmarks. Housed in a wooden case featuring a fitted velvet cushion and a silk lining.
