POLISH STILL LIFE OIL PAINTING BY SIGMUND MENKES
Sigmund Joseph Menkes, Polish, American, 1896 to 1986, oil painting on canvas depicting a still life with fruits. Signed lower right. Framed. Sigmund Menkes is known for Abstract figure, still life and interior painting. Menkes studied at the Lvov Higher Institute of Art and the Krakow Academy of Fine Art in Poland. He was a life fellow of the International Insititute of Arts and Letters and a member of the Woodstock Artists Association; the Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors; the National Academy of Design, New York; and the Societe des Independants, Salon dAutomne, and Societe du Salon des Tuilleries in Paris. One of a kind artwork.
