RUSSIAN SOVIET MGB EXCELLENT BORDER GUARD BADGE
A Russian Soviet Ministry of State Security Excellent Border Guard enameled badge. The enameled badge is in the form of a shield with a wide green edge, a red star of the Soviet Union, and the inscription Excellent Border Guard at the top. Inside is a relief image of a border guard with a weapon in his hands against the background of Red Square. Below is the coat of arms of the MGB Ministry of State Security. The Excellent Border Guard distinction was established in 1949. It was awarded to soldiers and sergeants who served in the border troops among the structures of the MGB, the Ministry of State Security. The award token was presented to servicemen for selfless and valiant service on the state border of the state. In addition, exemplary behavior of soldiers and their ideal discipline were noted.
