CHINESE CIZHOU CERAMIC FIGURE OF LION
Jin Dynasty, Ca. AD 1115-1234.A ceramic lion, seated upright on a pedestal, with its left paw resting atop a young cub. Covered in white glaze with details painted using light and dark brown slip. Cizhou kilns, predominantly in the Hebei Province, are more widely known for their incised ceramics decorated in black and white. This sale presents two examples of a more unique perspective from this kiln.
