J.E. Stuart, Portrait Of The Artist's Niece, Oil On Board. Back Of painting inscribed "Portrait of Mrs. Loria W. McMillan, Born Oakdale, Cal. August 27-1902, Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph F. Stuart Painted Sept. 23-1921, J.E. Suart, His Neice." Note attached to back of frame reads: "August 10, 1937, A wedding souvenir for my favorite and artistic neice, Mrs. Lester Cornelius Celbertson, (Evelyn Stuart, ) who posed for the best alaround beautiful, artistic, rich in color and spiritual portrait ever painted by her uncle, J.E. Suart, (Size 24 x 20 inches, on three ply wood, called finish finish, dated, August 27, 1921 to 1935.) Gift made this, July 26, 1938." Painting 23.75H x 20.0W in. Frame 30.5H x 26.75W x 2.75D in.
