Duarte Nunes (1530-1608), erudite historian, graduated in Law and judge of the Casa da Suplicação; after the death of King Cardinal Henrique he warmly embraced the cause of Philip I, whose right to succession he defended in writing against those who impugned him. Posthumous edition by the author's nephew, Gil Nunes de Leão. Variant with error in the first word of the title, later corrected. The last two sheets have the same number 161. Copy slightly cropped, but clean, with good margins. White seal of a foreign religious institution, on the first and last pages.
