Antique c1890 PA Lone Star - Bars Back
Antique c1890 PA Lone Star with a Bars Back measuring 90x90". The Large Star is comprised of diamonds that measure 4.5" along one side. There is a chrome yellow border, 5.5" wide. The fabrics include indigo, overdyed green, claret madder, double pink, Lancaster Blue and more. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a colorful stripy bars reverse with repeated double green, madder, and chrome yellow fabrics. The edge is finished with a pink print applied binding. It is in good condition with a few spots and fading, and possible repairs, or they may be to the period, and the quilter pieced the diamonds, making do with that she had. This quilt is part of the Living Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon is the authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
