A GEORGE III SILVER CAKE BASKET
by Thomas Robins, London 1813, rectangular with rounded corners and a swing-handle, the gadrooned border interspersed by scallop shells, acanthus and other leaves, the interior with fluted sides, engraved with a double-headed dragon crest, raised on a rounded rectangular foot. 34.5cm long, 37.7 troy ounces
The maker's mark is rubbed, but the other marks are clear. Two dints are above the fluting, and the handle hinges well. In generally good condition commensurate with age.
