CHARLES 'BOSTON CHARLIE' SOLOMON JEWISH MOBSTER SIGNED CHECK
(1884-1933) Russian-born Jewish organized crime boss who controlled Boston's bootlegging, narcotics, and gambling during the Prohibition era. Solomon owned the Cocoanut Grove night club from 1931 until he was gunned down in 1933 in the men's room of Boston's Cotton Club. Partly-printed Palace Theatre check drawn on The First National Bank of Haverhill, Mass, dated December 1, 1932, payable to Sam Jensky in the amount of $1,200. 8.25 x 3 inches. Cancellation not affecting the signature. Very good.
