Parchment Manuscript: Miniature Sefiras Ha'omer; Rolsdorf – Germany, Early 19th century

Pocket-sized Sefiras Ha'Omer, handwritten on parchment.

Each day of the sefira is written on a separate page in large letters with nikud. Lag Ba'omer is marked on two pages: the words "Lag Ba'Omer" are written in large on the right side, while the text for the sefira is written on the left.

The first page includes the blessing, followed by the first day's sefira and the yehi ratzon that is then recited. The text of "Elokim Yechaneinu, " which is recited after counting, is written on the last page.

The flyleafs contain signatures and yahrtzeit dates. One of the manuscript's owners marked his mother's passing in the year 1848 in the city of "Rolsdorf." This is assumed to refer to either the city of Rosdorf, Germany, or Düsseldorf.

Two paper leaves were added to both the beginning and the end of the manuscript. These paper leaves are adorned with a red border that dates back to the time of the manuscript's writing. Page 2b of the paper leaves contains an illustration of a vase of flowers.

6 x 4.7 cm | [26] parchment leaves + 4 paper leaves | Original red leather binding | Used condition
