A Chinese Hand Stitched Indigo-Dye Batik Silk Embroidery Jacket, 19th Century.
A vibrant and richly detailed jacket made from hand-dyed indigo silk, this Chinese garment showcases a unique blend of batik and embroidery techniques. The wide sleeves are adorned with intricate swirling batik motifs in navy and beige, bordered by geometric fret patterns. The shoulders and collar feature striking red silk panels embellished with hand-embroidered floral and butterfly designs in vivid hues of pink, violet, and green. The inside collar and tie area are trimmed with additional woven bands bearing stylized patterns.
