GERMAN IMPERIAL SHORT SWORD
Brass hilt with clam-shell guard decorated with crown and olive and oak branches, ferrule is stamped "38" grip is covered with ray skin and wound with twisted wire (one wire is loose), blade marked by ALCOSO knight head, etched with floral motif and monogram of Ludwig of Hesse, under the crown. Leather scabbard (very frail) with brass mounts.
