A RUSSIAN SILVER AND CLOISONNE ENAMEL SALT CELLAR

This is an unusually large gilt-silver and cloisonne enameled saltcellar in the form of a chair. The saltcellar rests on four turned silver feet. The cloisonne enamel forms a pleasant multi-color pan-Slavic floral and geometric motif. The piece is hallmarked with the Cyrillic letters 'ICh' and 'VS', the 84 silver proof, and the St. George Moscow mark.

Imperial Russia, 1891.

Weight 14.2 oz; 404 g

Dimensions: H: 4 1/2 in., (11.5 cm.); W: 3 1/8 in., (8 cm.)

Please make all inquiries before bidding.

All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.

Helios Auctions does not ship in-house. A list of recommended shippers will be provided.

Condition: Salt cellar appears to be almost perfectly well preserved. Button has several dark stains. The hinged lid functions well. The interior gilding is intact.
