This medal is dedicated to one of the greatest love stories of all time, the story of Jacob our father and Rachel our mother, love at first sight. After Jacob ran away from his brother Esau and arrived in Haran, Jacob meets Rachel at the edge of the well and falls in love with her at first sight. He offers Laban to serve him for seven years in order to marry his daughter Rachel. Laban laid a trap for Jacob and fraudulently offered him Rachel's sister, Leah. After that Jacob works for 7 more years in order to marry Rachel.
The medal depicts the meeting between Jacob and Rachel at the well. The characters address each other with greetings and love. The sheep symbolize the sheep of Laban the Aramean, which Jacob shepherded for 7 years in order to win Rachel: "And Jacob worked for Rachel for seven years, and in his eyes they were like days in his love for her" (Genesis 29:20).
The Bible has been and is an inspiring source throughout history. Its stories contain messages and lessons from which it is worth learning and educating. This unique historical set contains well-known and beloved stories. The HOLY LAND MINT took on the challenge of creating the broadest and most comprehensive collection ever made that would contain the stories The most prominent and important ones from the Bible. The front side shows the stories themselves and the back side (which is common to the entire collection) shows Jerusalem - the holy city, together with the kafir that represents the symbol of the city.
Front page design - Aharon Shebo
Back side design - Jacob Enidi
Sculpture and engraving - Tidhar Dagan
