Miguel Berrocal
1933 Algaidas - 2006 Antequera - Untitled - (1961) Gouache/paper. 37 x 46 cm (mat cut-out). Signed and dated r. Below: BERROCAL (19)61. Matted. Framed under glass. Berrocal studied in Madrid. He began working with welded iron constructions in close proximity to Chillida. The unmistakable feature of his art is the ability to dismantle the sculptural form. This allows the viewer to experience the design haptically. Berrocal was represented at the Venice Biennale for the first time in 1954. The artist is represented in museums worldwide. He lived in Negrar near Verona.
