***Auction Highlight*** 1856-p TOP POP! Gold Liberty Double Eagle $20 Graded ms63 details By SEGS. just 12 to 20 or so different Mint State examples of the date exist today, with the majority of those at the MS-60 to 62 level. The 1856 is considered by many to be a common date, no doubt because of the size of the mintages that occurred in Philadelphia at the beginning of the series. With regard to higher grades nothing could be further from the truth. This date has long been respected by specialists in the denomination as one of the more difficult Philadelphia dates of the 1850s, especially in attractive high-grade condition. A Key Date's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
