Meet Eli Nissenbaum (1994), self-taught.
Eli grew up in an ultra-Orthodox family in Jerusalem, with a lawyer father and a housewife mother, the eldest brother of six other brothers and sisters.
At the age of 19 he decided to retire from the yeshiva, went to study computers and enlisted in a classified position in the Navy.
All the while he is painting and already learning to tattoo his paintings on people, including in Berlin and Prague.
He currently resides in Musrara, Jerusalem.
Ever since Eli remembers himself he has been painting by day and especially by night.
His inspiration is used among the recurring motifs of Basquiat, Picasso and cave paintings.
His paintings include mythological Jewish motifs and pagans.
Eli exhibited some of his works at the Tahuma Raba exhibition at the On the Seam Museum.
