Gal Artzi (1992) freating in Moshav Givati in the south of Israel (where he was born and raised), now lives in Tel Aviv. A self-taught artist engaged in installation and sculpture on a large to monumental scale from iron and glass from factories which he reuses and transforms into a work of art.
His works are often seen as floating and freezing powerful movement that simultaneously convey attraction and potential threat. The monochromatic coloring of his works emphasizes the material texture and composition, but at the same time also evokes the illusion of compactness and density of the material or a feeling of airiness and tenderness. The tension between the real and the imagined exists as a leading element throughout his work and raises questions about actions of disclosure and concealment from a formalistic and narrative point of view. From a material point of view, he often works with "hard" materials in an attempt to simulate a change in the state of aggregation or specific weight of a material, as a symbolism for the process of investigating the struggle of identities and internal belonging.
Exhibited in various exhibitions and art fairs in Israel, including at the "Al HaTefer" museum in Jerusalem (2021), "Fresh Color art Fair" (2021) and the "Zimak" gallery in Tel Aviv (2022).
