Air Raid Precaution Warden D7209 - Medium - Royal Doulton Character Jug

In April 1937, the British government created the Air Raid Warden's Service, and during the following year approximately 200,000 volunteers were recruited. One of the duties of the ARP was to enforce blackouts, making sure lights were not visible from houses which could be used by enemy planes to help locate bombing targets. Issued 2004 in limited edition of 250.
