Cavalier D6114 - Large - Royal Doulton Character Jug
Green hat and white ruff. Style two, without goatee. Slight color changes and alterations occurred in 1950.
The cavaliers were Royalist soldiers who fought for Charles I during the English Civil War. They became known for their gallantry and haughtiness, an attitude still described as "cavalier". Royal Doulton backstamp.
