French Gilt and Silvered Bronze Mantel Clock
A French Gilt and Silvered Bronze Mantel Clock, Lerolle Freres, Paris, Third Quarter 19th Century. The arched velvet dial with silvered chapter ring, having Roman numerals and blue steel hands, with cast filigree below inscribed 'Lerolle / FRERES / A Paris', the twin train striking movement stamped 'LEROLLE FRES / PARIS' and numbered '1032', with Japy Freres pastille.
Dimensions: Height 16 3/4in; width 10in; depth 4 1/2in.
Condition:
The case with typical marks, wear, rubbing, toning and dust accumulation to crevices. The finials with varying quality to casting and are likely later replaced. The top of clock with vacant holes and slotted screws exposed that was likely covered by a ornamentation that is now lacking. At the time the condition report was conducted, the clock was currently maintaining power. With pendulum, and winding key. Lacking small brass bell.
