2nd half 19th c., signed on the side, bronze dark patinated, depicting the goddess Hera, who is given a golden throne by her rejected son Hephaistos, this was later to bind her and was intended as a tricky retaliation as punishment for rejecting her son Hephaistos, loosely mounted on a marble base, a cast seam on the arm minimally visible, normal signs of age, h bronze 34 cm, h overall 37 cm. Artist info: French sculptor (1830 Paris to 1888 Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie), pupil of the sculptors Jean-Jacques Feuchère and Augustin Alexandre Dumont, known for classical statuettes, mythological works, groups and busts, he exhibited at the Paris Salons des Beaux Arts 1863-1886.
