Emmanuel Villanis, bust "Seule!"
c. 1900, signed on the shoulder "E. Villanis", stamped on the reverse "Société des Bronzes de Paris" with coat of arms in a circle as well as "L9", titled on the recto "Seule! (French for "All alone!"), bronze with nuanced brown patina, bust depicting a beauty with knotted hair, a loosely knotted scarf slipped from the shoulders, on pedestal plinth, mounted on a rounded marble base, nose retouched, slightly rubbed in places, h bronze c. 19.5 cm, h overall c. 22 cm.
