Early 20th c., signed "Schrimpf.", alabaster, partly coloured and gold-bronzed, art deco beauty as nude, kneeling with outstretched arms in front of a basin, arms and body adorned by ribbons resp. a chain, on oval plinth, on honey-coloured marble base with rounded top edge, fingers of one hand glued, slight signs of age, h sculpture ca. 17 cm, h total 22,5 cm. Artist's info: German sculptor, graphic artist and craftsman (1889 Munich to 1938 Berlin), learned autodidactically, taught at the municipal Westernrieder Gewerbeschule in Munich from 1926, one of the most important representatives of the New Objectivity, giving the sober-registering an overtone of the poetic-idyllic.
