Luca Madrassi, Doppeles Mutterglück circa 1900, signed, signature mark Van Hasselt & Cie. Brussels/Belgium and model number 5269 and 2, yellowish body painted in white and ochre tones, on a profiled round base next to a tree stump standing young woman in typical clothing of the time with headscarf, lovingly holding two infants in her arms, minimally bumped condition, h 84,5 cm. circa 1900, signed, signature mark Van Hasselt & Cie. Brussels/Belgium and model number 5269 and 2, yellowish body painted in white and ochre tones, on a profiled round base next to a tree stump standing young woman in typical clothing of the time with headscarf, lovingly holding two infants in her arms, minimally bumped condition, h 84,5 cm. Artist info: French sculptor with Italian roots (1848 Tricesimo - 1919 Paris), studied art in Rome, then in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts under Pierre-Jules Cavelier, joined the studio of Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse and later the studio of Gustave Doré, from 1890 French citizenship, exhibited at the Salon of the Société des artistes français.
