Chassidut. First edition. The sacred Segulah book Magen Avraham by the Maggid of Trisk - Lublin, 1886 (the true first edition). In a unique original, leather binding!

A most important Chassidic book of Segulah.

Published by the holy author the holy Rav of Trisk, in his lifetime, with his holy blessing for offspring to anyone who owns the book: "ואברהם זקן בא בימים ה' ברך את אברהם (implying his holy name, Rabbi Avraham of Trisk, and his being very old, two years before his passing) בברכת והיה ברכה. ובזה הנני מברך את כל אשר יקח הספר הזה כי יתמשכו עליו חסדים רבים... למלא כל משאלותיכם בנים ובני בנים שתולים סביב לשולחנכם Handwritten lithographic copy of the end of the blessing אלה דברי המעתיר בעד כלל ישראל ובעד כל האנשים אשר יקחו הספר הזה לטוב להם כל הימים, (his handwritten signature)".

Leading Tzaddikim greatly praised the virtue and sanctity of the book. We shall note the words of the Sefat Emet, who said that an Avrech should pawn his Talit and Tefillin to purchase the book!

The holy Rav Rabbi Avraham, the Maggid of Trisk, the fifth son of the Maggid of Chernobyl, one of the greatest Tzaddikim of his generation whom thousands followed, including leading Admorim. Tzaddikim said of his that he demonstrated that a human can exist without food since he used to fast from Sabbath to Sabbath.

In his old-age, when he was unable to deliver his Divrei Torah to the thousands who came to hear him, he published his sacred book so they could read them (as he himself writes in the introduction to his book!).

In that same year, two editions of the book were published, with minor variations. This is the first one [the first edition was printed on less quality paper; therefore, only few copies complete of it survived].

The holy Rav passed away on the second day of Tamuz 1889 and his grave is a place for prayer and salvation. His son, the holy Rav Rabbi Mordechai, even implied that Tamuz 2 is a day when prayers are heard since the gematria of twice of Tamuz equals שועתנו קבל ושמע צעקתנו".
