Pesach Seder plate illustrated by hand on porcelain, signed. Sarreguemines, France, end of the 19th century. Large and rare

Porcelain seder plate, especially large. Illustrated colorfully by hand: in the center is an illustration of the Exodus from Egypt; around it is a wonderful border of grapevines and words regarding the seder: “Pesach”, “Matzah”, “Maror”.

Diameter: 37cm. Height: 5cm.

At the bottom is a stamp and number: “Sarreguemines / 743”.

This is a very rare item documenting the manufacture of wonderfully designed tableware for the Jewish community by the manufacturer “Utzschneider et Cie de Sarreguemines”, active between 1875-1900.

From a private collection.
