Dedication Handwritten by Rabbi Zundel of Salant: Sefer Darkei Noam with Kuntres Milchemet Mitzvah - with 2 engravings of the Temple - First Edition, Venice 1697
Sefer Darkei Noam, Shut on the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch, by Rabbi Mordechai Halevi Av Beit Din of Egypt, with an introduction by the author and an additional foreword by his son, Rabbi Avraham Halevi. On verso of the title page, an engraving of the "Form of the House" and on the last page an engraving of the Temple as seen by Yechezkel.
First edition - Venice, 1697. At its end, Kuntres Milchemet Mitzvah [separate title page] by the author's son Rabbi Avraham Halevi, dealing with the counting of Shmonah Yemei Milah. Printed in the author's lifetime - Venice, 1698. 282, 41 leaves. In the National Library, it appears in the Rare Book Collection and it seems they have only an incomplete copy.
New binding. Moth damage in several places. Stains. Some restorations. Good overall condition.
Twice on the title page and on leaf 40, a dedication to the Churvat rabbi Yehuda Hachassid Synagogue handwritten by Rabbi Zundel of Salant: "למדרש מנחם ציון פעה"ק ירושלים ת"ו". In addition, stamps of the synagogue.
Inside the book, two glosses in ancient Italian script, one of them lengthy and significant.
