Sefer Chessed LeAvraham. a foundational work of Chassidut, by the Admorim Rabbi Avraham HaMalach, the son of the Maggid of Mezetrich, and Rabbi Avraham of Kalisk-Tiberius. As the title page indicates, the work was edited and published by the grandson of Rabbi Avraham HaMalach, the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, who also warmly approbated the book. According to the date on the book, the whole process must have taken place about a month before Rabbi Yisrael’s passing. There are additional Divrei Torah by other Tzaddikim, as well as Hanhagot by Rabbi Shalom Shachna ben Rabbi Avraham HaMalach, the Ma’aseh HaMishkan by Rabbi Shmuel Kominker, Biur Esser Sefirot al Derech HaAvodah by "one Tzaddik, a disciple of the holy Gaon Av Beit Din of Berditchev” [the second edition already notes that the person referred to is none other than the Admor HaZaken, the Alter Rebbe, Baal HaTanya of Liadi]. Important approbations by: the sons of the publisher (Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin), the Admorim Rabbi Shalom Yosef and Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, and an additional one by Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl. Wide margins. The title page and the following leaf are detached. Stains. Moth perforations. Some other blemishes. Good overall condition. No binding. 

Writings of Rabbi Avraham HaMalach (the son of the Maggid of Mezeritch) were hidden in his grandson, Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin’s Geniza and were taken from him by the police when he was sent to prison in Kiev. He found no peace until an exact copy was brought to him, a copy that was owned by his father-in-law the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl. Subsequently, he ordered that they be printed, alongside writings by Rabbi Avraham of Kalisk and Rabbi Baruch of Mezhibezh. His warm approbation alludes to this story, and the book was printed about a month after he had passed away.
