Comments from the Time of Printing on a Rare and Basic Book: Midrash Shmuel on Pirkei Avot One of the First Introducing the Torah of the Ari - First Edition Venice, 1579
Sefer Midrash Shmuel, a commentary on Pirkei Avot (with the text) by the Kabbalist Rabbi Shmuel di Uzida of Safed ben Yitzchak, one of the disciples of the Ari and friend of the Ramak. In his book, he introduces some of the Torah of his great Rav, making his book one of the first books with the Torah of the Ari.

Zuan di Gara Press, with Bomberg fonts - first edition, Venice, 1579. Originally, 265 leaves. In this copy, the title page is missing and the copy begins with leaf 9. The last leaf is also missing. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod 39. In the National Library, the book appears in the Rare Book Collection.

New binding. Moth damage. Stains. Some tears. Good overall condition for such an ancient and rare book.

Inside the book, many comments on the margins of the sheet in fine Italian script, sometimes disagreeing with the author. Illustrations of a hand/finger on the leaves. According tot experts, these comments are from the time of printing, approx. 450 years ago.
