Состояние в целом хорошее. Переплет сильно затерт; утрачен большой фрагмент оклейки нижней крышки; края и углы крышек, верх и низ корешка побиты. Форзац и нахзац загрязнены; свободный лист форзаца замят, штамп на нём; титул и некоторые страницы книги загрязнены, в пятнах. Лисьи пятна. Шифры на титуле. Встречаются пятна на страницах.
Чистович Иларион Алексеевич (1828-1898), русский писатель-богослов, профессор Санкт-Петербургской духовной академии. Его книги по истории русской церкви основаны на архивных первоисточниках.
