Хорошее состояние. Обложка потерта, немного загрязнена, надорвана у корешка. Ржавые скобы. На страницах встречаются загрязнения.
Интересно отметить, что первоначально на титульном листе была допущена ошибка в инициалах художника — написано «В. Шевяков» вместо «Г. Шевяков». Именно этот экземпляр представлен на торгах. Книга впервые увидела свет в 1931 году с рисунками Г. Бибикова. Со второго издания 1933 года оформлением книги занимался Г. Шевяков; в 1939 году вышло ее 4-е издание — в другом формате, в другой обложке и совсем с другими рисунками того же Г. Шевякова — это было последнее отдельное издание данного стихотворения С.Я. Маршака. К каждому новому переизданию книги художник готовил новые варианты иллюстраций.
Шевяков Григорий Романович (1905-1982) — художник, живописец, график, плакатист. Член Союза художников Узбекской ССР. Учился на живописном факультете во ВХУТЕИН-ЛВХТИ (1923-1927). Принимал участие в создании и работе «Боевого карандаша» в 1939-1940 годах.
