Хорошее состояние. Суперобложка немного потрепана. Мелкий надрыв на титуле.
Выставка состоит из двух самостоятельных разделов, с достаточной полнотой освещающих собирательскую деятельность М.П. Боткина (1839-1914) и С.С. Боткина (1859-1910), во второй половине XIX - начале ХХ века ставших крупнейшими российскими коллекционерами художественных произведений. Представлены наиболее значительные образцы коллекции - более 350 памятников древнерусского искусства (сокровища из кладов домонгольской эпохи, реликварные кресты-энколпионы, образки, различные предметы светского и церковного быта и другие произведения), и памятников зарубежной культуры, обнаруженных на территории России (образцы искусства первобытной эпохи, украшения эпохи великого переселения народов и византийского времени, ювелирные изделия из Волжской Булгарии, Турции, Болгарии, Северной и Западной Европы). Данный раздел включает также живописные работы М.П. Боткина и архивные материалы, связанные с его биографией и собирательской деятельностью.
