Период Хэйан — период в истории Японии с 794 по 1185 год. Слово «Хэйан» в переводе означает мир, спокойствие. Хэйан начинается с переноса имперской столицы из Нары в город Хэйан-кё (современный Киото) и завершается морской битвой при Данноура, в которой дом Минамото разгромил дом Тайра.
